KNNK is truly a one-of-a-kind radio station! Originally built, owned and operated by Buddy and Alva Lee Peeler, KNNK went on the air for the first time June 13, 1998. The station's format was simple and forthright: presenting positive, upbeat music, a loving spirit and encouraging words from the friendly, homegrown 100% Texan (drawl and all) staff of announcers. The Peelers were proud of the 'family friendly' status of KNNK while filling the airwaves with biblically-inspired inspirational music and also sending reminders of the unconditional love of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Times and technology have changed the radio business in many ways; however, KNNK still operates today with the same principles and ideals it was originally created to do. After the death of Buddy Peeler in 2010, Alva Lee decided it was time to find someone else to manage and operate their beloved radio station.

Through a past connection, Mrs. Peeler contacted Paul Beane, a radio legend himself throughout the Texas Panhandle. Mr. Beane had been a part of the radio industry since the late 50's and had beenĀ involved in numerous radio station transactions, having owned and operated many stations himself. Mrs. Peeler knew that if anyone could find the best fit for operating and managing KNNK, it would be Paul Beane. And she was right!

Mr. Beane made a phone call to Monte Spearman, manager of High Plains Radio Network and operator, with his family, of four small market radio stations in Texas. The Spearmans still have a great appreciation of the small market radio world. They 'live and breathe' the local radio and that was just what Mrs. Peeler wanted for KNNK. After a phone call and a 30-minute meeting between Mr. Beane, Mr. Spearman and Mrs. Peeler, a deal was struck and the ownership and operation of KNNK started to change hands.

Under the direction of HIgh Plains Radio Network, commonly called HPR Network, KNNK has been technically updated, hoping to create a solid broadcast sound on the radio station and on the internet. But the values of the station and its music will remain unchanged; continuing to air inspirational and uplifting music while also presenting listeners with reminders of our Savior Jesus Christ's unconditional love for all.
