Bryan Peeler, MD, 46 was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 30, 2009 in Paducah, Texas.

Bryan was born October 10, 1962 in Morton, Texas to James “Buddy” and Alva Lee Peeler. He graduated from Hereford High School. He studied Biology at North Texas State University. He graduated from Texas Tech Medical School. Dr. Peeler served his internship and residency at the Methodist Medical Center in Dallas and continued in private practice for 10 years in Dallas before calling Plainview his home. Dr. Peeler held faculty positions at Southwestern Medical Center in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine.

He also practiced Emergency Medicine full time at the Methodist Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Peeler had a private medical practice in Plainview for 9 years at the time of his death. Bryan LOVED his family and his LORD. He was an avid hunter, loved the Palo Duro Canyon, raised cattle and ranched. He loved spending his free time with his wife and children. Bryan will be dearly missed by his family, medical colleagues, staff, and a host of many friends.

Bryan was preceded in death by grandfather, J. T. Shofner and grandparents, Jeff and Jewel Peeler.

Survivors include his wife Julie, one daughter, Brooke Peeler (3), two sons, Corey Peeler (7), Christopher (4) all of the home in Plainview, parents, Buddy and Alva Lee Peeler, one sister, Melanie Ratliff and husband Robert, grandmother, Ida Mae Shofner all of Hereford.

Buddy PeelerIn Memory Of James "Buddy" Peeler

James D. "Buddy" Peeler, 70, died Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, in Amarillo.

James "Buddy" Peeler married the love of his life, Alva Lee Shofner Peeler, on Aug. 16, 1959, in Muleshoe. He moved his family to Hereford from Muleshoe in 1968.

Buddy was an active member of many organizations in Muleshoe and Hereford. He achieved his lifelong goal of owning a Christian radio station. He loved sitting behind the microphone at his radio station, KNNK in Hereford. Buddy lived for his Lord, lovely wife Alva Lee, his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Jewel Peeler; and a son, Dr. Bryan Peeler.

Survivors include his wife, Alva Lee; a daughter, Melanie Ratliff and husband Robert of Hereford; a sister, Rheata White of Friona; five grandchildren, Kyle Ratliff and Niki Ratliff, both of Hereford, and Corey Peeler, Christopher Peeler and Brooke Peeler, all of Plainview; and a daughter-in-law, Julie Peeler of Plainview.
